49er Family Fund & Family Giving

The 49er Family Fund is the UNC Charlotte Foundation initiative specifically designated for family giving. This fund is supported by the parents and family members of current and former UNC Charlotte students, and all funds donated throughout the year go directly back to support and enhance the student experience on campus.

Make a Gift Today!

The 49er Family Fund annually allocates grants to campus initiatives related to student life at UNC Charlotte. These allocations help fund programming on campus that might otherwise be unable to be funded by a campus department, student organizations, etc. The 49er Family Fund seeks to serve as a funding catalyst for innovative, high-impact programs that benefit the larger UNC Charlotte campus community.

The goals of the 49er Family Fund Student Life Allocations are defined by the values of New Student & Family Services: Courage, Equity, Growth, and Connection. The goals are:

  • To promote interaction among the campus community (students, faculty, staff, alumni)
  • To ensure recurring and consistent programming
  • To advance cross-cultural awareness or educational growth
  • To promote healthy lifestyles amongst the student body
  • To provide leadership or service opportunities
  • To provide opportunities to develop students as ethically engaged members of the community
  • To promote UNC Charlotte spirit and traditions
  • To support new students (freshman and transfer) as they become acclimated to UNC Charlotte
